You know how there are certain songs that come on and make you forget everything and dance? Cocaine, written by JJ Cale and made famous by Eric Clapton is one of them. It only takes a few notes before a good feeling washes over you and you find yourself inadvertently dancing. And the song has the same effect on infants, who we’ve actually watched stop in the middle of a screaming tantrum when the song came on and start dancing.
Think about it. If one 4-16 minute song (depending on the version) has the power to stop a tantrum. Imagine what it can do for a mild case of the blahs?
It has been scientifically proven that music and the resulting dancing has mind-bending side effects. You got your exercise, you got your cardio, you got your endorphins, serotonin and dopamine going. You’ve got the stabilizing effect and escapism of a great beat. And if you’re dancing to the 16 minute version, you’ll probably even get a runner’s high! It’s so good, it ought to be illegal.
